The Hunter 34 is a quick and comfortable boat that is great for cruising. It features a masthead sloop rig, fin keel, spade rudder, with double B&R style spreaders. All halyards, sheets, and traveler are led back to the T-shaped cockpit for easy single-handed sailing. The H34 features Maxwell 24 self tailing primary winches for ease of use. The deep keel version offers outstanding windward performance in any condition.

The Hunter 34 has a tri-cabin layout. It can sleep seven in comfort; two in the master aft cabin, two in the V berth, two on the convertible settee, and one on the berth opposite the settee. The large main saloon offers 6'3 head room all the way up through the head and into the forward cabin. This is an ideal boat for a family of 3-4. The vee berth is forward with storage underneath, a hanging locker and two cabinets. It is followed by the head with the shower to starboard and the sink opposite, with a separate shower sump in the head.

The main cabin features a convertible dinette to starboard and a settee to port.

The aft cabin features a berth that is almost the size of a queen bed as well as a hanging locker and additional storage.

The navigation station combines a storage area as well as a built-in wine rack. The galley is large enough to cook in but snug enough to stay secure in while underway.
