Captain Peter Bilek

During the 2001 sailing season, a chance encounter with a Hobie Cat caused me to fall in love with sailing.  Since then I have taken almost every ASA course offered by Northern Breezes Sailing School.  The combination of my ASA Bareboat Charter certification combined with my love for travel has brought me to many corners of the world, including 3 separate bareboat trips to the Spanish Mediterranean, as well as sailing off both New Zealand and Australia.  Through my sailing travels I have made some lasting friendships.  These friendships have in turn given me great opportunities to crew on boat deliveries, including two separate crossings of the Gulf of Mexico, and a delivery down the west coast of Baja Mexico.  I have been a sailing instructor for Northern Breezes since June of 2004, and in 2007 I acquired my United States Coast Guard License. Currently I am co-owner of a 30' Hunter named ‘Pig's Eye’ which is docked at the Lake City Marina on Lake Pepin.
