Basic Keelboat - ASA Course 101 - Lake
Calhoun
Basic Keelboat is taught by ASA-certified
instructors on Lake Calhoun. Qualified graduates will become
charter certified for day sailing on 20-25' keelboats.
Northern Breezes Sailing School is offering you a terrific Learn
to Sail Program with the combination of the finest school and a
superb fleet of 20' cabin sailboats located on Lake
Calhoun. This is a restricted motor lake in which we use an
electric motor!
This is a four session, 12-hour course taught by
Northern Breezes Sailing School instructors certified by the
American Sailing Association (ASA). Classes meet weekday
evenings, for three-hour
sessions. Classes are limited to three students. This creates a
small seminar environment which provides for great skipper and
crew training. Each session starts with a briefing on the day’s
lesson, getting underway, sailing exercises and ends with
docking and securing the boat.
Each student will receive the Sailing Fundamentals book and
video/DVD, Federal Regulations booklet, Log Book and Pre-Test.
Mandatory for certification, membership in ASA is also included in the
