Maritime Gallery Artists to Paint en Plein Air at Mystic Seaport

“Plein Air Painters of the Maritime Gallery” exhibition to open June 19

David Bareford FASMA Breaking Sky Over the Mystic River Mystic, Conn. ~ Visitors are invited to watch Maritime Gallery artists painting en plein air on Mystic Seaport grounds Tuesday through Saturday, June 15-19.

More than 20 of today’s leading maritime artists will be at French easels painting in the tradition of the plein air painters of the 19th and 20th centuries. The featured artists include Len Mizerek, Russ Kramer, David Bareford, Yves Parent and Shirley Cean Youngs. The artists’ works will then be available for viewing and purchase in the 14th annual Plein Air Painters of the Maritime Gallery exhibition and sale from June 19 through September 1.

An opening reception will be held Saturday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the participating artists, as well as purchase paintings fresh off the easels.
