After suffering a broken mast on Monday, November 21, the PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG team retired from Leg 1 of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12. Video of the recovery of the mast and sails is available online at www.puma.com/sailing and can be downloaded for free on iTunes.

The rig onboard PUMA’s Mar Mostro failed in the southern Atlantic Ocean, about 2,150 nautical miles from Cape Town, South Africa. All crew are safe and well.



For nine months, the PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG team is sailing 39,000 nautical miles, across four oceans and stopping on six continents.
